Fun DIY folk-punk
I had never heard of this band, but I really like Aaron Parker's taste in music (he was the taper) so I did a archive.org search for his name and started listening to his recordings. This is another performace from the same night as the Coyle St. Collective Apt. show of Dan C on 2005-04-24. (the below reviewer "ian.r" was looking for the other shows from this night. Not sure if there were other bands, but this one seemed to be from the same evening). 'Boycott Me' is very folk-punk-ish. The recording is really intimate, and it sounds like there are no more then 10-20 people there in a quiet room. He doesn't have any amplification and is just doing it acoustic and yelling out from his heart. the volume jumps a little as his singing voice changes strength. The show is OK but it his voice gets kinda raspy / annoying after a while. A fun solo acoustic unamplified punk rock show. Good stuff. Total running time: 43:06

speechless over the talent.
This guys music to me is just what music should be. Fantastic lyricist fitted with the perfect guitar style and voice for it.Every once in a while I hear someone who reminds me of why I listen to music and this is one of those times.I If I ever get the chance to see Mischief Brew live, I will definitely do so.This show sounds great, very live with Eriks voice really pushing the show.
I was informed of Mischief brew long ago by a friend on Suicidegirls. I will ever be indebted to her for that.
Thanks for this great site,And thanks to Erik for sharing this great show and great songs.

great writer, great recording
erik is a great song writer, and a wonderful performer. these songs are very inspiring and i'm thankful to have them on archive.org!
the sound quality is great for an un-amplified performance...
great show, check it out!!
(but where are the recordings of the other bands for the night...?)
Notes
Placement: sorta kinda DIN, to Eric's left side, about 5ft up and 3ft away.
Notes: For this show Mischief Brew was just Erik Petersen. The show was also a party to celebrate Zoe's 21st birthday.
Sometimes you will be able to hear what sounds like keys clinking in the backround (its actualy dog tags), this is caused by the 2 dogs that Erik brought with him running around like crazy and having a grand ol' time.
